From Blues to Gospel
Reverend Gary Davis
Sony/Biograph
Release Date: February 24, 2004
CD Length: 50'29"

This is one of the last recordings by a legendary artist who was known not only for his guitar skills in blues and ragtime but also as a touring street preacher. The musical style of the whole album is primarily the
blues as presented in the songs like "Talk on the corner" or "Sally, where'd you get your whiskey"; however, the lyrics include some gospel. The album, recorded in the year prior to his passing, ends with the perfectly-fitting song, "I'll Do My Last Singin'".
