"The First Lady of Gospel" was born in Durham, NC on October 13th, 1938.
At the age of 10, she already started singing for friends and family.
She started her professional career as a member of the Caravans in the 1960s until she started pursuing a solo career in 1966. The multi-award winner is the minister of her church in North Carolina.
Her often-shouting singing style is very powerful and spiritual, and it constantly delivers the messages to people.
