  　　南北戦争後間もない1871年に9人のオリジナルメンバーで欧米をツアーしたフィスク大学ジュビリー・シンガーズは、米国の黒人としては初めて名声を得たグループ。
  　　ナッシュビルのオーシャン・ウェイ(19世紀の教会を改装して造られたスタジオ)でHDCDレコーディングされたこのアルバムは、グループの伝統を受け継ぐ、2001-2002年度のフィスク大シンガーズによるもの。全曲アカペラで、その殆どは少なくとも半世紀以上前のアレンジ。『Were You There (讃美歌第2編177番 『あなたも見ていたのか』)』や『Wade in the Water』、タイトル曲『In Bright Mansions』などの名曲を含むこの曲は、ECD形式でもあり、解説や写真などがコンピューター用データで見ることができる。
