Amazon.com Review This collection of 128 numbers is distinguished by an unusual slant toward classical music. Victor Herbert's "Toyland," a chorale by Martin Luther, and the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" are among the instrumentals, and a Catalonian carol complements the "Carol of the Bells." The print is larger than that in most collections, and the keys on the whole are easy ("O Holy Night" is in C). There is also an arrangement of "Auld Lang Syne" to take you to New Year's Eve. Most, but not all, of the guitar notation is given with fingering charts. --William R. Braun

Christmas music book for piano December 28, 2008 This is a wonderful book of Christmas music, great music arrangements, not too easy and not too hard. The book is in excellent condition and arrived within a week after I ordered it. I was very pleased.
Know which version you're getting November 13, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm displeased with the way in which Amazon represents these books. It seems that the reviews for all versions (viola, piano/vocal/guitar, cello, etc.) are all lumped together. This makes it easy to come to the false conclusion when viewing the viola version, for example, that the part will include guitar chords and a piano part since they are discussed in the reviews. This is made worse by the linking of the listing for all other parts to the preview of the piano/vocal/guitar. In fact, there's no way to tell exactly what the music looks like for the solo parts, or even if there's a piano accompaniment. The best clue, though, is that the number of pages for the solo instrument parts is about half the number of pages for the piano/vocal/guitar. Just to be clear, I don't own a copy, but thought I might save someone from an unwelcome surprise.
Great collection of songs November 4, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great selection of songs, plenty to choose from. I have the Cello version. It is pretty easy to sight read; I would say the level of difficulty is beginner to intermediate student. One thing that stinks is the cello version does not have lyrics. I am hoping all sets are compatible, so that I can get a version for the Piano to have someone play along with me. Also, the binding is annoying. You need clips to keep it open. But, I am planning on bringing it to an office supply store to change the binding to spiral bound. It costs about $3 to change the binding.
No lyrics in the viola version. December 5, 2007 I think this is a great book of the collected Christmas songs. I have the version for viola, it doesn't have any lyrics. I try to remember the words as I play, but I'll have to get another source just for the lyrics and write them into this book. I'm not home while writing this, but I thought I'd seen Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman, but certainly not The Little Drummer Boy. There are 2 versions of Away in the Manger and something else, I believe.
Big Christmas Book for Cello November 8, 2007 1 out of 13 found this review helpful
I am interested in a book of Christmas songs for cello, and one comes up in the search, but the book shown, the book reviewed, and the book that comes up for purchase is for Piano/Guitar/Vocal.
How do I learn about the Cello version?
