Product Description Whether you're a newcomer to the field of energy medicine, an experienced practitioner or an animal lover committed to learning everything you can about your companion's health, Animal Reiki will open your eyes to a new level of healing and well-being. From dogs and cats to horses and birds, this book is everything you need to understand and appreciate the power of Reiki to heal and deepen the bond with the animals in your life. Reiki has many qualities that make it an ideal complementary therapy for animals. First and foremost, it is gentle, painless, non-invasive and stress-free for animals. Reiki heals at all levels of an animal's being: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. It is one of only a few therapies that brings no harm to any living thing--plant or animal--to produce its healing properties. It goes to those issues most in need of healing, even those unknown to the practitioner. Reiki is always safe and comfortable for both animal and healer. It can be given at a distance and adapted to any problem that affects animals, so it can be used under any circumstances. There is virtually no problem or circumstance that cannot be treated effectively with Reiki. We believe animals are sentient, spiritual beings who give generously of themselves to the planet and are innately deserving of Reiki's benefits. Living with people and civilization exacts a great toll on animals. They cannot speak their needs and wants in human terms and are often dependent upon people for the satisfaction of even their most basic needs. Reiki is a vibrational "frequency" that is readily understood and appreciated by an animal, allowing him to deepen his relationship with the practitioner as he joins in a healing partnership.

Informative and Inspiring January 8, 2009 This book is filled with practical information on working with animals in general and doing work with specific kinds of animals; great for the new Reiki practitioner. It's also filled with beautiful and inspiring stories from the authors' work over the years.
One of Top 7 Spiritual Books Since 2000 January 7, 2009 I am a Reiki Master. I have had some success with animals. This is one of the Top 7 spiritual books since 2000 if only because more than any of the others I put into this category (with the possible exception of "The Seeress of Prevorst", by John DeSalvo and "The Knights Templar" of Rudolf Steiner, with its very specific prediction of certain developments in human society occurring starting exactly in the year 1998 and with a photograph of the chalkboard with Steiner's diagram supporting such an assertion included), there is a huge contemporary need and a totally unfilled niche for a solid, incredible, and standard spiritual book, in this case on the neglected topic of animal Reiki.
That being said, a few of the stories of the great Reiki Master Hawayo Takata, included in Fran Brown's 1992 biography "Living Reiki: Takata's Teachings", involve her incredible successes with animals. But those accounts are still not on the scale or systematic scope of this incredible book.
The instruction and case studies Fulton and Prasad supply in this book are not only very helpful to the earnest Reiki practitioner and student, but supply a whole paradigm and worldview of the beautiful gift to the world animals represent and how we can better relate to them as people, as well as just touching stories that pull on the heartstrings of anyone who loves animals.
So, this is a book whose importance can hardly be overestimated, and whose appeal really does stretch towards those just interested in animals, their welfare, and their gift to people, as opposed to people like me, who are actual Reiki Masters and so are more "hardcore" into Reiki (but it is essential for us folks also).
Wonderful way to heal your pet companions November 5, 2008 I loved this book. it explained the benefits of using Reiki to heal your animal campanions and undomesticated animals. I used the techniques of the book and helped heal an eye problem my friends cat had--the vet was amazed how fast her cat was healing! I was also able to help an injured animal make his transition with ease. The stories are very heart warming. But this is a book more for Reiki practitioners. If you don't have the attunements it may not be as effective and unless you know what the healing symbols that are mentioned are, you may be lost when there is a reference to it. However, Reiki is very easy to learn and there are many terrific Reiki Masters who will can do the long distance attunements so you can do the Reiki healing on animals. For all your vets-Rekik is a good healing modality to use with your animal patients and their parents.
An excellent resource October 7, 2008 As a Shamballa MDH Level IV Master/Teacher and animal communicator, I wanted to be able to extend my practice to include healings for animals and their situations. This book has been a fantastic guide and my Rottweiler, Syrus, is already enjoying the benefits.
This book is outstanding!!! August 9, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Very inspiring and practical book on how to give wonderful Reiki energy to pets and all animals and even nature. They show how simple and beautiful it is to give Reiki love to the world of animals. I think the thing that impressed me the most was the picture she had of the 4 deer that were lined up waiting to get their Reiki. Unbelievably beautiful! The stories were just fantastic! The 32 year old cat! I hadn't known they could LIVE that long! I really can't say enough things about this book. I wish it was about 10 times as long! I have a very beat up semi-feral cat who would not let me give him Reiki. When reading the book I found out that hands-on Reiki is too intense for some animals, and she showed how you can just sit and let Reiki flow from your hands, and shower the animal. I tried that with him, and he was very receptive to receiving it that way, and has had his gashes finally clear up. This book is chock full of practical Reiki wisdom and heartwarming stories. I personally could not read the chapter on animals that were ''transitioning.'' If you're like me, I'd suggest skipping that chapter unless you need to use it for that sometime, then it would be very good. I VERY highly recommend this book for people who want to try their Reiki on pets or wild animals. This book is for people who use Reiki. This is NOT a book for people that just want to do stuff for their animals. You need to learn Reiki first; this is not a Reiki manual for people who don't know it. I find it a shame that people would come on here and criticize a book that is doing exactly what it was intended for, because they thought the book was something it was not nor was it intended to be. Additionally, if there are people who want to learn Reiki to be able to work with their animals, I highly recommend the Steve Murray attunements and Guide. They're not expensive, and you can learn Reiki well enough to use this book for your animals. You will also have a wonderful healing method at your disposal any time you need it; Reiki is simply invaluable.
