This Nickelodeon sketch comedy series hosted by young comedienne Amanda Bynes is as fresh today as during its 1999-2000 run with still-timely jabs at reality shows, teen dramas, and fan obsession. Byne and her young castmates manage to have a goofily good time at no one's expense. In these two 22-minute episodes (#214 and #217), the cast manages to skewer hillbillies and (unidentifiable) immigrants without offending, probably because the other characters get theirs, as well, including a hapless Danny Bonaduce as an outraged video store customer. JudgeTrudy and her bailiff survive a reality-show challenge in the middle of an Oklahoman parking lot, Mr. Gullible tries to be a good sport during a school fire drill, and Penelope Taint, Amanda's no. 1 fan, is able to prove her case. This innuendo-free comedy is appropriate for all ages, but will be most understood by ages 7 and older. --Kimberly Heinrichs

4 out of 5 stars Amanda Bynes sketch Moody's Point compared to?   April 17, 2005

I seen Amanda Bynes sketch from Moody's Point, it was amazing. The show is compared to Dawson's Creek and The O.C. Amanda Bynes character Moody is compared to Dawson's Creek Joey Potter and The O.C.'s Marisa Cooper. Amanda Bynes is compared to Dawson's Creek' Katie Holmes, 7th Heaven Jessica Biel and The O.C.'s Rachel Bilson. Amanda Bynes was in a teen drama, I think she would have played The O.C.'s Marisa Cooper or Summerland's Erika Spalding.

I asked for both Amanda Show DVDs for Christmas, and I actually got them. My family thinks the show is obnoxious, but I absolutely adore them. There are so many great episodes, bloopers, and behind-the-scenes footage, you can't help but watch it over and over again.

I rate it about 3 stars cause one I haven't seen it on the actual VHs/ DVD release. My favorite part was Penelope Tyant. I actually believed they were two different people. x.x
