Amazon.com Avatar the Last Airbender: Book 2 Earth, Volume 1 finds Aang, the Avatar and potential reconciler of a world divided into air, earth, water, and fire kingdoms, now a master Waterbender. That means he and companions Katara and Sokka can now leave the Northern Water Tribe and concentrate on mastering earth. New adventures and dangers await the heroic trio in the five episodes included on this DVD, which finds Aang experiencing nightmares about the power of the Avatar State. He also meets an earth kingdom general with plans for attacking the warrior tribes of the fire nation, gets trapped with possible love interest Katara in the Cave of Two Lovers, and gets pulled into a supernatural swamp by a tornado. As always, Avatar is above average as an engaging anime tale, with a wonderfully original storyline and striking artistry. --Tom Keogh

A must see! July 12, 2007 This is a wonderfully imaginative series that is perfect for the whole family. We have Book 1 the entire season and now own Book 2 Vol. 1-3 (4&5 are not available yet). When our DVDs arrived, we couldn't stop watching them. We are anticipating the publication of the rest of the Earth season and eagerly await the last season - Fire. The children's adventures as they navigate the adult world are entertaining and moving. Rarely do characters experience such growth and maturation. Our heroes (and I include Prince Zuko) are constantly learning and changing as they head toward the final battle. The epic is well written, acted, drawn, and directed. Whenever my daughter asks if we can watch an Avatar, my answer is always yes!
Very entertaining! May 22, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you just started watching the Avatar you need to get all that is out there for nobody knows when the third season will begin.
Excellent Series May 8, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Avatar is an excellent animated series for the whole family; enticing characters with engaging storylines, captivating action and good humor. I personally feel this is the best animated series being produced. I highly recommend this series to anyone. As a father of 2 children, I think this is easily the most meaningful and morally responsible series available for families as a whole on television (cable or no). Great fun for all; our whole family (my wife too) is eagerly waiting to see the next episodes when the next DVD becomes available.
Sincerely, Dennis Mace

We have become fans of the show and look forward to each new dvd that comes out. I have two boys who are 7 and 10 who love to watch them. My older daughter takes them with her to babysit and the kids love watching them as well. My younger daughter enjoys trying to water bend like Katara.
