Very well put together and revealing how stupid the "intelectual" community really is when it comes to "higher" knowledge.

Smart, provocative, and to the point January 6, 2009 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've always liked Ben Stein, even before I found out that he is a believer in intelligent design, something which I am very passionate about but am usually to afraid to talk about for fear of being ridiculed. This documentary's synopsis has already been covered plenty, so I won't bore you by repeating it. What I really like about this documentary though, is that rather than focus solely on the science behind ID versus evolution, it focuses more on the political side of things. This movie is extremely controversial, and that's to be expected. There are some things in the film that are somewhat questionable, such as Ben Stein's paraphrasing of a Darwin quote to paint it in a more cynical light, however this does not discredit its message as a whole.
If you're looking for a point-for-point scientific discussion of ID versus evolution, this DVD is probably not what you're looking for (there are a great many other books and DVDs out there that do offer such discussions). However, it does get my glowing stamp of recommendation for the fact that it exposes the hostile environment that the scientific community has created, and that the attitude of "shut up and don't ask questions" attitude is not simply a Bible-thumper's fairy tale. Discussing ID is not popular, and so I'm very thankful to Mr. Stein for taking such a huge risk and attaching his name to this film, even though it has, as expected, led to a lot of criticism.
