Product Description Studio: Funimation Prod Inc Release Date: 11/11/2008
Amazon.com The fifth and sixth Dragon Ball Z features Cooler's Revenge (Tobikkiri no Saikyou tai Saikyou--"Fantastic Ultimate Strength vs. Ultimate Strength," 1991) and The Return of Cooler (Gekitotsu!! 100 Oku Pawaa no Senshi-Tachi--"Crash!! The 10 Billion-Power Fighters," 1992) rank among the most popular titles in the long-running series. Goku, Gohan, Krillin, and Oolong set off on a camping trip, but their outing turns into a battle royal when they're attacked by the minions of Cooler. The older and nastier brother of Frieza, whom Goku destroyed in Season #3 of the broadcast series, Cooler is out for vengeance. Piccolo helps Gohan fight off the sidekicks, but the centerpiece of the film is the duel between Super-Saiyan Goku and Cooler, who looks like a purple version of Frieza. A mighty Kamehameha blast disintegrates Cooler, but a metallic version of him appears when the planet of New Namek is attacked by the monstrous space ship Big Gete Star. Dende asks Goku for help, and the Z Fighters answer the call. They're met by a squadron of giant robots, whom Gohan, Krillin, and Piccolo take out. Cooler makes the mistake of trying to drain the Saiyan life energy from Goku and Vegeta (who's arrived unexpectedly). The circuitry of the Big Gete Star overloads, enabling Goku and Vegeta to crush the robotic Cooler. Usually, Dragon Ball Z balances fantastic action with slapstick comedy, but the "Cooler" films are almost entirely devoid of humor. (Rated TV PG. suitable for ages 8 and older: violence) --Charles Solomon

Watch the first movie, you'll love the second. December 17, 2008 The first movie is ok, watch it just for the backstory of the second movie. The second movie is really good though, lots of good action.
by far the best dragonball z movies September 20, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
im glad to see funimation releasing the dbz movies like this.even the metal tin packaging is pretty cool.the 2 cooler movies being released are by far my favorites and well worth it.i dont agree with the other reveiw saying it was bad that funimation got rid of all that metal music that only appeals to certain people.i would much rather listen to the japanese audio music instead while watching these movies.im more of a classic rock and blues guy anyway.i also recommand getting the first 3 seasons as well as the other duel movie sets.those are the best dragonball z has to offer and well worth it as well.
Hope they keep the metal soundtrack for Cooler's Revenge. September 7, 2008 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
It's great to see FUNImation giving the movies and specials the same remastering treatment as they are giving the TV series. I just hope they don't get rid of the soundtracks they originally had for Cooler's Revenge (Disturbed, Drowning Pool, American Pearl, etc.) That made the movie (and Lord Slug) all the more better.
