Amazon.com Young children are naturally curious about animals and the natural world. It's a Big, Big World presents a cast of lovable bun rako animal puppets who explore a CGI animated natural world by combining curiosity with scientific investigation in a way that thoroughly delights audiences ages 2 to 7. Created by Emmy Award winner Mitchell Kriegman of Bear in the Big Blue House fame, this PBS program features a laid-back sloth named Snook who lives in the world tree and helps everyone from the marmosets Smooch and Winslow to Ick the fish and Bob the anteater understand things like weather, ant behavior, flower movement, and even the metamorphosis of a tadpole into a frog. Far from a dry lesson in the scientific method, Snook sings, explores, and consults a wise turtle named Madge to gain an understanding of the creatures and natural processes around him. Just as appealing as Bear in the Big Blue House, the puppetry is fabulous, the characters endearing, and the world-inspired music both catchy and effective. Each episode is followed by a brief "Did You Know" segment highlighting key facts about animals featured in the shows and a songs bonus feature allows young viewers to replay their favorite "music videos" from the episodes. This is a high quality nature program that's very appealing to young children. --Tami Horiuchi

Loving Snook and the Gang April 25, 2008 Thesed DVDs are simply the best. They have great songs, great lessons and wonderful colors. My son (20 months) has loved Snook and the gang since he was 9 months and the love affair continues. I now have another little one who loves to watch with his big brother.

I am so glad they finally put these out on dvd, I have been looking for so long. My boys absolutely love this show. It is very educational, great show for kids.
big big world February 26, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was disappointed with the dvd because the actual tv show plays 3 regular songs througout each episode and the DVD cuts these songs out. I purchased the DVD for the sole reason of having these songs available because this is what my child enjoys.
It's A Great, Great, Show February 23, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a wonderful show for kids of all ages. My son is 15 months old. He loves music. This program has lots of great songs. I enjoy watching it with him and think it is a fun introduction to science for little ones. I have both of the DVDs available for purchase.
