Product Description Our world is filled with mystery, magic, and the bizarre, making the expression "truth is stranger than fiction" a phrase that everyone knows. In Strange But True, Corrine Kenner and Craig Miller have selected some of the most amazing true stories from the pages of FATE magazine, and presented them in a way that will startle, thrill, and fill you with a sense of wonder about the universe. When ordinary people experience the extraordinary, it changes them forever. The reports in Strange But True (over 130 of them) document some of these amazing, life-altering events. You'll get every vivid, uncanny detail from actual witnesses about their eerie encounters with the unknown such as: Psychic warnings Ghosts, apparitions, and other mysterious creatures of the spirit realm Miraculous healings and remarkable recoveries Incredible coincidences (or are they bursts of synchronicity?) Dreams that foretold the future Alien encounters Terrifying creatures UFO contacts Cases of reincarnation and visits from the dead Guardian angels Time travel Astounding oracles and weird fortunetellers Out-of-body experiences Each one of the stories in Strange But True is sworn to be a factual event, but each one also goes deeper than the physical shock and surprise of the bizarre. The events in Strange But True changed people's lives. Reading about them may help you find a new direction, a new path, and maybe even new hope for your life, too. Whether you're a true believer, a doubting debunker, or are somewhere in between, Strange But True will definitely delight and amaze you with the nature of the human spirit and the vast potential of experience we all can have. Strange But True is must reading for everyone.

Really Cool! December 17, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This collection of scary stories that have happened is really crazy! All the stories are really terrifying, and make you wonder whether they are real or not, even though they are actually true!
Different stories include alien encounters, strange and unexpected voices that save lives, odd and creepy animals (my favorite being The Talking Tom Cat), terrifying visions of death, fortunetelling, angels, people surviving things that should have killed them, reincarnation, out-of-body experiences and terrifying tales of ghosts and encounters with ghosts.
Strange But True is an amazing collection of really scary stories that make you wonder, and make you shiver, and make you wonder whether they actually happened, even though they all did.
Un-put-downable November 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great collection of a wide array of paranormal occurrences, most of which are very intriguing and satisfying. Some of my favorites include "Ghost Highway," "Prove It to Me," "Back in Time," "Saved By My Double," "Something Pushed Me," "Cross My Palm With Silver," "Fated to Marry," "Mercy by Mail" and "Message in Chalk." I have read a *lot* of paranormal compendiums over the years, and this is one of the few in which practically every story sparks the thrill of the unknown.
Aimed at children June 15, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love this type of reading. However, within minutes of receiving my copy of this book, and seeing it was compiled from Fate magazine, the tabloid of the paranormal, I knew what I was in store for. The stories, editing and product design are aimed at children or young teens. The cover looks like a comic or like it is from a Nickelodean TV special. The stories are shallow urban legends you have all heard a thousand times. For example "I listened to Satanic music so much I use to see a devil sitting in the corner of my room every night before I went to bed" Mostly the stories are simple one page essays seemingly written by young people. Recommended for a younger crowd, but adults might find yourself a bit embarrassed if someone saw you reading it.
A Chilling Read! May 27, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
A fantastic book that's hard to put down. The tales within are chilling. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to those who like ghost stories or tales that are just plain weird.
Interesting April 16, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book covers it all, from a "real people" prospective. Some of the stories seem extreamly far fetched and honestly they may have you thinking, ok this is just a collection from nuts. But to be honnest, I think these people had courage, to write down what most in modern social circles think as pure bull these folks felt COMPELLED to share the stories. They belive this and there is little doubt it happened. Its hard for people to share stories... in the old days this was acceptable but with the advent of Tv word of mouth, and old stories have fallen by the way side. People need a place to share the more odd of the world. And comming from a person who has seen the fair share and been questioned by otherwise rash adults- I say READ this. Esp if you are the one of many who shares rather behyond science exp.
