4 out of 5 stars Learning by celebrating   November 21, 2008
When I first flipped through the pages of this book, I new this would be a resource I'd return to throughout the year. Not only that, but it's a book I'd find very useful for years to come! Although I was baptized Catholic, my CCD did not include much information about the saints. I came upon a true treasure for my children and me. My only gripe is the small black and white pictures of some of the craft projects-very hard to see what some of them are supposed to be!

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely wonderful   August 30, 2008

I criticized what I believe is the newest Ann Ball book for many reasons, not the least of which were the crafts.

This book is all anyone could ask for in an interactive Catholic book.

Each day is either identified as a saint's day or as an ordinary day to be enjoyed with God. There are crafts, recipes, information about plants and herbs, and of course information about each named saint.

So far I've tried two of the recipes, and they were big hits-piroshkies and chicken paprikas.

The best way to use this book would be to check it out over the weekend and see what you and your family could incorporate into the coming week. There's just so much to read about and do, you could cycle this book through many years and never repeat anything (unless you wanted to).

5 out of 5 stars Concrete Reminders of Faith For Children   July 13, 2008
I love that this is an ACTIVE book. Reading daily Scripture, attending Mass are all important parts of faith, but the activities in this book are tangible things to DO with your children.

Reminding them of the Church and their faith though crafts and activities is a concrete way for kids to get involved - and with an activity every day, you'll never run out of ideas.

I'm no super mom, and there's no way I could actually accomplish every activity each and every day - so one of the nicest things about this book is you can pick up on whatever calendar day you happen to be on. No need to go back or feel guilty for missed days, just begin wherever you are.

4 out of 5 stars Nice Book   May 31, 2008
I received my order in a timely manner and was well pleased. The book is supposedly used, but it appears to be new. Thanks so much!

5 out of 5 stars Great Resource for last minute or extra activity...   January 9, 2007

Catholic Traditions In the Home and Classrooms: 365 Days to Celebrate A Catholic Year is a great resource and find. It can get you through the class if you are looking for supplemental material or you can base an entire class or lesson on one of the ideas/traditions found in this book. It is a real great resource for every Director of a Program to have. Some of the traditions would be "lost" if it weren't for this book.
