Amazon.com The Book of Genesis tells us that God created "the evening and the morning" on the third day. It's hard to say when is the best time to listen to this southern Christian rock act's rousing tunes, though morning is likely the best, as their anthemic alt-rock is filled with enough praise and worship to get even the most jaded listener through the day. In their 11-year recording history, the band has built up a loyal fanbase, won Dove and Grammy awards, and spent innumerable miles on the road. On Chronology, Vol. 1, Third Day looks back at the first half of their career with a dual CD/DVD disc with characteristic generosity. A handful of live and rare numbers round out new mixes of hits like "Forever" and "I've Always Loved You," while two of their most-loved early numbers, "My Hope Is You" and "Thief," have been entirely re-recorded. The DVD is the real meat here, with five early music videos, six live performances from the Dove shows, and excerpts from eight handheld videos made by fans, which all show how hard these guys can kick it. This is no paint-by-numbers best-of, but an awesome tribute that will satisfy devoted fans and the newly curious alike. --Mike McGonigal

Great music May 12, 2008 Both of Third Day's Chronology albums are a fantastic buy with great music. The bonus disks with the videos of select performances are worth the watch. The CD contains music that raises the spirit and touches the heart. A perfect compilation of Third Day's music.
Third Day rocks! March 31, 2008 Features their older music, doesn't have the depth and variety of Vol. 2, but still some great Christian rock!
Awesome March 16, 2008 I really had no intention of buying this CD/DVD set as I have all of Third Day's albums so I thought that it would not really be worth it. Was I ever wrong!
This superb collection not only features many of Third Day's best hits from over the years, there are some remixes that are even better than the originals. Before getting this, I would not have thought that possible, but it certainly is the case.
I particularly like the new versions of 'Forever', 'Thief', and 'Nothing At All'. Besides those, there are several little known songs that had been released on EPs long ago.
In addition to the new and re-energized tracks, there are several music videos and some live performances of various songs. There are also some bootleg videos that were taken at the very beginning of the group's formation. They were certainly not as polished in those days, but they are a real treat for any Third Day fan.
This is a great buy. I highly recommend it.
Good Music Band October 2, 2007 It is really great to hear the bands older music. We started listening recently and after seeing the band perform live, you start to appreciate all their music. A definite addition to anyone's catalogue.
christian rock/emphasis on rock September 29, 2007 good music, not preachy, Mac Powell's voice reminds me of Edddie Vedder's voice, and that, for me, is the ultimate compliment. Listen before you buy and see if you don't agree. The guitarist is awesome, too.
