Quality Music October 19, 2008 When the single HEAVEN, HEARTACHE AND THE POWER OF LOVE was released you could tell that Trisha Yearwood had grown even more as a singer. There was an underlying new special something to this track. She has always been an amazing vocalist but on this track we saw her immense range, great emotional delivery plus a hats off to gospel while remaining country true. Our lady seems settled in here life - obviously her marriage is bringing much happiness and it shows.
This cd is the most cohesive she has done in years. Today many artist are turning country or claim to be country while doing country pop but Trisha is pure country thru and thru. It is in her soul and it comes out in her music. What's nice here is how the ballads, story songs and uptempo numbers are perfectly laced together. And she seems to be having more fun than ever on the country rockers here. Story songs have always been a perfect way for Trisha to utilize all her vocal skills and the standouts here are NOTHIN BOUT MEMPHIS and THE DREAMING FIELDS. With the ballads here her voice soars as her full range is put to expert use. Standouts are THIS IS ME YOU'RE TALKING TO, HELP ME with the strikingly beautiful SING YOU BACK TO ME hauntingly bringing the set to a close. The uptempo standouts are so much fun here. The title track, COWBOYS ARE MY WEAKNESS and NOTHIN ABOUT YOU IS GOOD FOR ME will have you tapping away. I would love to see her sing these live.
I'm very happy cowboys are her weakness and hope she and her particular cowboy are very happy. Her personal life seems to have helped bring her best set in a long time.
Highly recommend.
Absolutely love this album! September 16, 2008 I've always liked Trisha Yearwood and owned a couple of her albums, but hadn't heard anything by her for years that I thought was really special. Then I saw the video for "This is Me You're Talking To", and Trisha's amazing voice made me want to cry. I bought the album the next day and have kept it in my car CD player ever since. I love almost every song on the album--there's something there for nearly every possible mood. "Not a Bad Thing" is great for those I-can-make-it-without-you independent days; "Sing You Back to Me" is sweet and sad; "Dreaming Fields" makes me yearn for times past; and "Cowboys Are My Weakness" never fails to make me smile! I rank this album among the top 4 or 5 of my entire 300+ CD collection.

A great singer ( a real diva ) CD great, delivery good. Wish she would do a live DVD.
Deep, Poignant, Beautifully Crafted August 18, 2008 I bought this CD having not heard Trisha Yearwoods latest three albums leading up to this one. Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love delivers song after song of powerful statements such as the line in "This Is Me Your Talking To".... the message is clear "he thinks he's the only one who's touched me like that, but he don't know nothin bout Memphis." With songs written by Karen Rochelle, Matrace Berg and Greg Bernhill, Trisha Yearwood sends the message "you can't have heaven without the heartache, but hopefully by the time you get there, you'll have perspective" (paraphrase). In short, I enjoyed it from "Heaven" to "Sing You Back To Me"
A Modern Classic July 3, 2008 On this album, Trisha delivers some of her best vocal performances, along with outstanding songs. EVERY SINGLE ONE is a winner! A stronger album hasn't come out of Nashville since 1980, when Reba's "Feel The Fire" came out. I truly adore it, and listen to it constantly, even though I bought it 6 months ago. Favourites: "Nothin' 'Bout Memphis" -This has got to be the single most impressing vocal performance I have ever heard by anyone! Exeptional song, and probably my favourite song off the album. "The Dreaming Fields" -A haunting piano-driven song. The lyrics are so emotional, you might actually burst into tears at first listen. A true modern classic. "Heaven, Heartache And The Power Of Love" -Probably my all-time favourite uptempo number by any artist! It is so much fun to listen to, and it is just plain awesome"
Buy this album now! If you don't, you are missing out on a true modern classic.
