Working with seasoned and knowing veterans and a team of songwriter friends, Leigh Jones has slow cooked a feast of eclectic and soulful songs that speak directly from her heart and soul to yours.

    Album Description
Rarely does such a young performer come along who is so dazzling, so captivating and so undeniably talented as Leigh Jones, who masterfully blends Pop, R&B, Jazz and Blues in this memorable debut CD release that is, simply put, not to be missed! Endorsed by famed music man and Motown founder Berry Gordy, who produced the track 'Cold in L.A.' Berry says 'Throughout my career I have been blessed to discover many great musical talents. I feel Leigh Jones is destined to be one of the next great stars. She can do it all. She's awesome!' Leigh has shared stages with legends such as The Temtempations and Thelma Houston, and opened for such stars as Brian McKnight and John Legend.

5 out of 5 stars Blue Eyed Soul At It's Finest   November 24, 2008
The blue eyed soul of the UK (Amy Winehouse, Joss Stone, etc) has always intrigued me but to find it on American soil was quite a stretch until now. I have always loved Teena Marie and what she brought to soul music but now we have LEIGH JONES. This "vanilla child" has soul dripping from her like an ice cream cone on a hot summer day. Her voice is amazing and the production is superb. The title of her album could have easily been "SOUL IN MY MUSIC". If you're unaware of what soul music is, you'll find out as soon as you pop this one in. You know you have what it takes when you can get the great Berry Gordy to come out of retirement to produce a track for you (check out Cold In L.A.). Like the rest of the reviewers, if true soul music is what you've been missing, pick this one up. You will not be disapointed.

5 out of 5 stars Awe Yea!!!   November 14, 2008
I've waited 2 years for this CD, while that other record company jerked Leigh around. It was worth the wait. I love everything about this CD. Congratulation Leigh! Straight to the top baby! Time to take this puppy on the road!!!

5 out of 5 stars BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR!!!   October 25, 2008
This is the Album of the year!! From start to finish, you can't deny Ms. Jones. I know we're all in shock and can't beleive how hot this album is. I saw her live and her voice is even more amazing, she's amazing, Jazzy, SOULFUL,a breath of fresh air. No other artist can touch can touch this album this year, Not Duffy, Amy Winehouse, Jessica, Joss Stone not even Norah Jones could put her finger on this one. You Go Girl!!!!

2 out of 5 stars Wanted To Like This   October 25, 2008
2 out of 3 found this review helpful

Sorry folks, and I see I am the only one on here so far who doesn't like this release. Believe me, I wanted to, being the fan of soul that I am, but if this is soul, this isn't my kind of soul. Duffy and Adele take you back viscerally to the Motown-era. This release is pure formulaic. The backing band doesn't distinguish itself at all, it almost sounds like karaoke backing tracks. The song "Cold In LA" is quite possibly the worst song lyrically that I have heard this year. Ms. Jones does possess a nice voice and I think she could do better with better material and a better backing band. I know I am inviting a "0 out of 13 people found this review to be helpful" here, but I invite you to listen to any of these tracks and decide for yourself. I have--I'm reselling this on amazon.
