    Editorial Reviews:

    Product Description
Do you see Him clearly? You ve heard about God, you ve heard the name Jesus before, but do you really know who He is? With this landmark sophomore album, the follow-up to the critically-acclaimed debut, If They Only Knew, Trip Lee wants to give every listener 20/20 vision. Looking through a Biblical lens, Trip Lee introduces us to the person of God using incredible beats and diverse lyrical flow. As one of most anticipated and truth-centered albums of 2008, this will be a staple for any hip hop fan.

    5 out of 5 stars I'm Seeing 20/20!   October 27, 2008
This album is no tight. Every song is good! The lyrics give God the glory alone, and the beats are great! Highly recommended!

5 out of 5 stars Huge blessing for a Christian hip-hop fan   October 15, 2008
I've been listening to Christian rap since I found out about the Cross Movement and Grits around 1999. Since then, there has been a series of ups and downs within this indsutry but overall I think the progress has been good. To me this album exemplifies all of the hard work artists like this have been putting into their lyrics, the production and their commercial appeal. The tricky part is being as commercial as possible while being truthful, relevant and obedient to the Lord. The point is to get as many people exposed to the Gospel as possible without compromising the message or the quality of the sound. I think guys like Trip Lee, Flame, Lecrae, Tedashii, Da Truth and The Cross Movement are definitely doing that. This album was the best Christian hip hop album I've heard so far and gives me so much hope and excitement for the future generation of fans. I want this bumpin' in the city where I live instead of the crap they keep puking out on the radio. This is quality hip hop regardless of the genre but is made so much better by the fact that it gives glory to the Lord and encourages others to do so.

4 out of 5 stars Man, this is some raw Christian rap   September 3, 2008

First off, it sounds to me that Trip Lee has been baptised in the Holy Spirit. Good!! Some of his tracks on "20/20" are rather convicting and have something to say.
I will admit, several of his tracks have beats and melodies with production quality that equals, if not surpasses, much of the mainstream hip hop/rap of the radio. That is a good sign (hopefully, it will be more appealing to secular audiences - this goes for the people who only listen to the beat, and/or to the people who prefer lyrics over beat - or whatever). Personally, I thoroughly enjoy multiple tracks on this album due greatly to the beat and melody.
On to the lyrical side of the album. Here is where I feel the album faulters. While much of what Trip Lee raps about is very true and awesome, considering he is glorifying Jesus Christ to the utmost, I think that some of the tracks on this album aren't quite individual enough; they don't really stand out to me and they seem repetitious of previous tracks on what they are trying to get across. I get the feeling that a few of these tracks were made by first creating a cool beat then just putting some familiar words and truths into the rap. On top of that, some of the tracks seem like Trip Lee's voice gets kind of mixed in with the sound of the beat, rather than standing on top of it, thus leading it to be harder to some to decifer exactly what he is saying.
BUT!! On the positive side, there are some tracks on here that are completely contrary to what I just said. Great quality. Amazing beats/melodies mixed with outstanding lyrics that can, indeed, be heard above the background (thus, creating a foreground and background in the first place). Along with the word "outstanding" to describe the lyrics, I would also use the word "constructed," having aim and a more specific point to get across. "True Security" and "Eyes Open" are prime examples of such.
Also on a positive note, there are a few guest rappers(Lecrae, Sho Baraka, and Tedashii), which are nice small break-up qualities in a full-length rap album.
All in all, 4 out of 5. Maybe I will see it's production as higher quality than I do now once I continue to listen to it for a long time, but in the meantime, I want to be honost (which may mean being critical!). None of that means I don't like the album.
I recommend this album to anybody who can, first, handle hip hop/rap, and/or, second, who wants to be encouraged in Christ Jesus from the standpoint of the streets. But, heck, if you don't follow Christ, this is some tight rap, anyway (if you listen to rap songs about money and booty all day, why not give the raps about Jesus a shot, even if you don't believe. It's still music.).
P.S. - I happen to not listen to hip hop/rap on a regular basis besides some Christian artists, so my fondness of the genre style of music may not surmount to one who has a larger bias toward hip hop/rap.
P.S.S. - I really like the cover of the album. :) Also looks very well done and interesting.

4 out of 5 stars GREAT CD, COULD BE BETTER   September 1, 2008
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST HIP HOP ALBUMS OUT PERIOD. HIS DELIVERY IS MUCH IMPROVED AND YOU CAN TELL THIS BROTHER IS IN HIS WORD. FOR THE OLDER HEADS WHO SWEAR THE EIGHTIES WERE THE END ALL OF HIP HOP, PLEASE GIVE THIS A LISTEN. CLING TO YOU MAY BE ONE OF THE MOST MATURE AND REVEALING GOSPEL OR RAP SONGS OF ALL TIME. THE CLARITY (BECAUSE OF CHEAPER ENGINEERING) COULD BE IMPROVED BUT THAT SPEED BUMP DOES NOT STOP THIS TRAIN. TRIP LEE CAN BRING IT PERIOD. THIS ALBUM WALKS THE THIN LINE BETWEEN SOUTH, MIDWEST SWING AND EAST COAST FLAVOR BUT TRIP LEE PULLED IT OFF. MANY HAVE TRIED BUT NONE I'VE HEARD HAVE DONE IT. 20 20 IS SOMETHING YOU WILL BE PLAYING IN THE PRESENT AND IN THE FUTURE (5-10 YEARS). 2 GOD BE THE GLORY

5 out of 5 stars Awesome CD!!!!   August 26, 2008
This CD is a must for all Christian Rap fans. The lyrics are unique and heart piercing. I am excited to hear what's next for this gifted and Holy Ghost filled young man.
