5 out of 5 stars Lavalier microphone for camcorder   November 19, 2008
I purchased the Audio-Technica ATR-35S Lavalier Microphone a few weeks ago. I used it with two different camcorders and it worked fine with both. Sound quality is excellent for such an inexpensive item. Just what I needed to improve the quality of my online video demo's. Much more professional than using the camcorder mic itself. The included power supply makes it vastly superior to mics without power.

    Definately worth the money.

I have used this mic on shoots for my web video program. It's worked well for me, and the slightly extra length helps when doing stand-ups and shots that require movement. And- the price was certainly right!

5 out of 5 stars Works as Expected   October 22, 2008
I ordered this microphone for the purpose of recording oral history stories in connection with a camcorder. Previous reviews encouraged my purchase, and in testing I'm pleased with the microphone.

I purchased this mic to record flute since it was highly recommended by other flute players. It is quite nice especially considering the price. Good buy.

4 out of 5 stars Great quality for the price   September 18, 2008

There are only two issues I would point out with this microphone:
    1) The inline on/off switch with battery. It requires that you remember to turn on the microphone before use and turn off the microphone after use. You also need to keep a spare battery on hand.
    2) It is a mono plug. I use the microphone to record interviews where I'm plugging the mic directly into my camcorder. Since the camcorder can accept stereo sound, the microphone by itself only records onto the left channel. An inexpensive mono-to-stereo converter (about $2) found at any Radio Shack solves that problem.

All-in-all this is a great little microphone. It is very inconspicuous on camera, picks up sound very well and the long cord is almost overkill for face to face interviews. If your subject needs to be mobile the cord would be a big drawback. However, if your subject is seated this is a perfect cost saving mic.
