Good, but... December 26, 2008 The hardware is excellent. My only gripe with it is that the scratch wheels are not sensitive AT ALL when they're in Bend/Seek mode (as opposed to Scratch mode). The sliders and knobs click onto Zero position (very useful), and the FX panel can control both decks separately. The internal sound card is great.
Sadly, this product is not supported on Windows Vista 64-bit. I have already contacted Behringer Customer Support and they told me the driver is in the works, but it would go much faster if they saw a significant userbase that used Vista 64. Before buying this product, snap off an email to them asking to finish the 64-bit driver! It'll get done faster that way!
Great Product, Lover Behringer, DONT USE ON VISTA December 16, 2008 I bought this to start off my aspiring DJ career. It works great with VDJ or Traktor. But only in XP. DO NOT BUY THIS IF U ARE USING VISTA!!! i cant stress that enough i tried hours to get it to work on my vista laptop with no results.... its response time is very fast and you can even get a little scratching in!! Only things i didnt like were that the microphone and external input buttons do not override the program you are using it with, in other words, if ur using VDJ (like me) then the microphone and external inputs are usless. So i just bought a XENYX 502 mixer, for like[...]bucks and it does the job.
Good for completely new djs October 14, 2008 Don't get me wrong, it's not terrible, and for the price it is definitely worth it if you are just starting out. But, if you've had any experience prior to this purchase you might get bored unless you love reprogramming. I have dj'd on turntables for a few years and I wanted to try it on the computer, so I bought this, but the jog wheels are extremely stiff, and the controls, to me, are counter intuitive. It took a while to get used to the eq being horizontal. And I tried the mic. Not worth the extra weight, it had really bad noise on it. Granted I'm using it on a mac so pc could be better but you'd definitely need to upgrade to traktor 3 to get any use out of the software on mac, but I'd rather return it and get something more intuitive. If you have a little more money and are just getting started buy the numark total control. Much better and will be easier for you to move to other mixers if you decide to upgrade. If you have a lot more money buy the m-audio xponent. It's way better and doesn't seem like it'll need an upgrade for a while.
You get what you pay for... September 16, 2008 The Behringer B-Control Dee-Jay is an inexpensive mixer for the laptop DJ. You can adjust pitch, volume, launch fx, and customize much of the control surface...
I spent a few hours getting all the midi setup with my G4 running Traktor 3 Pro, as it comes with a LE version of Traktor and the MIDI setup doesn't rollover. I spent a few more hours trying to find a file that already had the MIDI setup I wanted, to no avail.
Then I found that it was glitchy, and not just in a few ways. The Phones Volume and Master are hardwired, which could be good except that the mix and master levels are supposed to be contained in the Traktor software. Many components don't work near as well as they should, and it may just be shortcomings to Traktor the software, and not so much the Behringer board itself.
For the price, I encourage you to check it out, and try it with other DJ mixing software. For myself, I'm sending it back, saving some extra dough, and getting a Torq Xponent.
Great September 12, 2008 Great product,I took the risk that It wouldnt work with windows vista but it finally did with deckadance. Great product, great weight, great kmobs. Heavy-duty wise I dont think its the most durable product ive seen but you get what you pay for and I think 150 is worth for what it is.
