    Editorial Reviews:

    Product Description
The religious spirit, largely underestimated and poorly understood by Christians, is one of the enemy's most reliable cohorts for thwarting God's plan in our lives. Manifesting itself in many ways, this ancient spirit often counterfeits the Holy Spirit and lures God's people into complacency, legalism, control, or self-righteousness. In Conquering the Religious Spirit, Tommi Femrite uncovers--with stories and personal vulnerability--how the religious spirit operates in the lives of believers. She gives a step-by-step guide to lasting freedom that will help propel readers into joy and fulfillment in God.

3 out of 5 stars Conquering the Religious Spirit by Tommi Femrite   November 19, 2008
This book is a heavy hitter for those REALLY interested in delving into the subject matter. It does not make good entertainment or light reading; however, it does give excellent examples, how-to's, and prayers for overcoming religious and other limiting spirits and being set free to become all we were meant to be.

5 out of 5 stars Do you have a religious spirit?   July 14, 2008
What is a religious spirit? "A religious spirit is a demonic force that influences people to act pious, self-righteous or super-spiritual. The religious spirit has a clear-cut agenda" to disorient one's perception of who Jesus is and to stand in the way of God's effort to build His glorious Church". Wow! That is deep. They continues to describe the ways of a religious spirit. One of the most powerful examples is that of the Pharisees - they used the ritualistic traditional of keeping everything within the status quo. The book continues to illustrate how to overcome the religious spirit by - using the bad breath of pride test, discussing three theologies you should not believe, defeating the religious spirit and walking into the freedom God intends for you.

Femrite and Sytsema proves that God speaks to everyone but you must quiet yourself, listen and do His command. Through years of self-study, reading the Word, and learning from Godly friends, they show us all how to conquer the religious spirit. This book is grounded in the Word and provides all the references you need to check out the lesson. This book may be difficult to read for some as recognizing if you have a religious spirit puts Satan on notice. Everyone should read this book and pray to rebuke any religious spirit that may be looming over you.
