Product Description First published in 1989, the Revised English Bible is a complete and thorough revision of the New English Bible of the 1970s. Sponsored and approved by all the main Christian denominations in Britain, it is widely used in churches throughout the UK and has been acclaimed for its suitability for public reading. This edition includes just the Old and New Testaments and comes in a choice of hardback and French Morocco leather. The page numbers match the Cambridge REB Lectern Bibles, so the hardback makes an excellent pew Bible.

Excellent quality Cambridge Bible March 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The REB 143 from Cambridge is an excellent quality book and to have an edition written in spoken English is a treat as well. We have some 25 bible translations in our collection and this text is one of the most commonly used versions in our home. That Cambridge have released the Revised English Bible at this quality level is great.
It may be important to note the REB 143 is significantly higher in quality than the REBA 143 which seems to have some gilding adhesion problems and the leathers seem to feel much lower grade even though promoted to be the same quality level. The REB 143 is of British origin and the REBA 143 is outsourced which likely is the problem.
One can buy the REB 143 with full confidence that they are getting what they paid for and then some.
Regards, Daryl J.
