A Must for Ephesians September 25, 2003 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Dr. Snodgrass turns sermon prep into a Spirit filled experience by offering profound thought and application of Ephesians to the modern life. Klyne takes Paul's call to "ground, shape and challenge the readers so they might live a life of faith" to the contemporary church through exegetical insights and profound application. This commentary is simply outstanding at numberous levels. It has impacted my spiritual walk and has been a powerful preaching/teaching tool.
Great Help! October 31, 2002 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
As a minister, I decided to preach through the book of Ephesians. Because I tend to preach with a more exegetical style, I was very interested in having a commentary that examined the history of the text and gave practical use for today. This commentary accomplished all of this and more. Yes, there were times when I felt that Snodgrass's application was perhaps not for what I was looking. However, the most significant part to me was exegetically handling the Word of God. I recommend this commentary to both lay people and ministers.
