 My Preferred Translation November 9, 2008
I have many different translations of the bible that I study. However, this is my favorite. I truly believe it is probably the most accurate. If you purchase this book I recommend also "Idioms of the Bible" also by Lamsa. It can open your heart!

This is one of the most marvelous Bibles I have ever read. It has a beautiful translation, and Lamsa does a great job interpreting the Word in a greater fashion.

This bible is incredible. The introduction alone explains how easy it is to lose translation from Greek to English because of the mistaking of ancient Aramaic idioms and intended meanings. George Lamsa disambiguates all of this so there is no mistake as to the accuracy of what you are reading. Invaluable and essential. The best copy of the Bible I own.

My only complaint is that I would like a hardbound version or one with a more heavy duty binding. Lamsa's translation undoes a lot of the terrible theological debates Christians often become entangled in because the wording of most translations simply isn't correct. I've used this version heavily in study since I acquired it. I have perhaps twenty Bibles and this one is a favorite. This is an eye opening work, and it will change the way you ponder the meaning of a large number of verses in scripture. I highly recommend this one for anyone seeking the Truth and looking to get a better understanding of Christ. Thank you Mr. Lamsa for your work.
