5 out of 5 stars Ten Commandments   May 26, 2008
One of my favorite movies. The DVD quality is so much better than my VCR tape was.

    5 out of 5 stars Mother's Day Gift   May 25, 2008
I ordered this for my mom for Mother's Day this year (2008). She LOVES it! It only took about 4-5 days to come in!

2 out of 5 stars Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down   May 25, 2008
Reviewing Cecil B. DeMille's 1956 classic would be anticlimactic to say the least ~ I doubt anyone reading this hasn't already seen it (probably several times) and formed his own opinion. The 1923 original is another matter.

The same attention to detail is given to sets and costumes, but not only is the whole substantially shorter than the 1956 masterpiece, only half of the movie tells the story of Moses. Part II is an early 20th century melodramatic morality tale based upon the damage done by violating the commandments given in Part I.

There is a historical value in seeing what DeMille did his first time around, but the odds that you'll ever bother watching the first version a second time are slim.

    5 out of 5 stars A Classic   May 21, 2008
No matter how many times I see this movie, I enjoy it every time! The cast is spectacular as is the set. If you haven't seen it, don't miss it.

5 out of 5 stars A great film - and time to watch it!   May 19, 2008
I always loved trying watching this movie, but it's very long and if you add TV commercials? -who can allow all that time and stay up that late? Having the DVD allows me to share one of my favorites with my children and we can watch it at our convenience - with as many breaks as needed. I catch more details each time I watch it - a truly great film to share with the family!
