Truely the best screen version to date depicting the story of Jesus. Moving and entertaining.Theologically, it is truly catholic in all respects from the Annunciation thru to Pentacost. It would be hard to re-make this classic today as the star lineup makes this unique in the same class as DeMille's Ten Commandments.
Beautiful and Uplifting February 16, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is one of the best presentations of the "life of Jesus Christ", if not the best. It is my favorite. Simply magnificent; beautifully shot, the music is beautiful, and the cast is perfect. A comprehensive depiction of the life of Jesus Christ on this earth from His birth to His death on the cross and His resurrection. Inspiring and uplifting.
I love this movie February 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I lean more toward the Gnostic Christian views than the conventional Christian's, including also the Nag Hammadi Library. That said, this movie is greatly inspiring for not only the everyday Christian, but anyone who is interested in gaining insights into the life of this great spiritual leader. Most of the movie is straight from the Bible, with a little mix between the small differences in the Gospels.
I recommend this movie for anyone, Christian, Gnostic, Buddhist, Hindu, anyone will gain from watching it.
Also, just suffer the bad acting for the first hour or so, because it gets a lot better once Jesus comes into the picture :)
Family must see February 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Powell provides a definitive performance as Jesus of Nazareth. The characters are believable, passionate and powerful. Timeline is faithful to the Bible, and music score is stirring. This is a must-add to your family dvd collection.

Awesome lesson! Children should have adults watch it with them, in order to explain details.
