5 out of 5 stars Revival and Angels   July 17, 2008

Andrew Strom's book is an excellent read for any person who truly wants to know the "rest of the story;" for any true seeker; for anyone who believes in "testing the spirits;" for anyone who applies Biblical discernment as commanded in Scripture. I have read and relished Strom's mature, modest, and heartwrenching evaluation of the Lakeland Revival. Having already searched the Scriptures and found many, many questions about the Lakeland manifestations, his book presented clear and concise information for Christians to not only examine this revival but themselves and see if they are in the faith and whether this revival (not a revival at all!) is of the Lord. Strom calls believers to personal revival and personal examination. God calls us to the same.

Have we so soon forgotten that Mormonism was the result of an angel speaking to Joseph Smith? As a false religion, Mormonism has deceived multitudes with unimaginable false teachings it is hard to believe anyone in their sane mind would accept -- yet, it is still converting people today.

The Scriptures clearly teach us to "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth." II Tim. 2:15

This is what Andrew has done and apparently Hank Hanegraaff of the Christian Research Institute (CRI) is also responding to the false prophets and teachers of the Lakeland Revival in his book Aping the Practices of Pagan Spirituality. Strom's book is the beginning. Hopefully, it and those that follow will not be too late to protect the body of Christ from fallen angels sidetracking them from pure devotion to Christ and His Kingdom! Thank you Andrew!!!

5 out of 5 stars Hunger for holiness   July 16, 2008

Reading this book has given me a deeper longing for God and His purity in my heart. Regardless of whether God is in the Lakeland phenomenon or not, or how much He is, (and being God, wouldn't He want to touch hearts, WHEREVER THEY ARE, which are genuinely hungry for Who He is and not for His gifts?) this book, with a good look at the history of revivals in the West, reminded me of what revival is and what it isn't. It has given me a greater hunger for real personal revival. Is it not better to seek Him in the seclusion of home for as long as it takes instead of spending a lot of money on an airfare, hotels and conference fees etc and being on show in front of God TV? Maybe the quiet seeking behind closed doors, of the Holy God who speaks with the still, small voice, is what is required today.

5 out of 5 stars True and False Revival   July 16, 2008

This book could have not come at a better time. Our church just had a Pastor come from Argintina which supposenly had a huge revival several years ago. I went with high expectations and came back crying for days. I knew there was something admiss and for me to cry like that it had to become something serious. Why did I cry when so many thought there was revival? Yes, they fell down under some power yet there was not teaching of the Word or repentance. The leadership of the church were like under his spell and would almost swoon, yet all I say was an arrogant and sometimes rude and crude man. He talking about peeing a lot and at one time even raised up his shirt to reveal sometype of deformity on his stomach and call it the "glory" of God. I am heart broken and can not return to this church that I once so much loved. Where is the discernment. Having him come to this small church of under 100 cost over ten grand meaning that many members are having to dig deep in their pockets to pay for the expense of the church staff making ther arrangments for him to come. I believe they felt he had a special impartaqtion for "revival" but all I saw was strange manifestions and crudeness. I am so sad. I cried for 3 days and it hurts me to know I can never go back there as till he came the church seem to be in order. I am so grieved and this book helps me understand why I am so sadden.

    A grieving prophet

5 out of 5 stars The Truth Needs To Be Preached From The House Tops!!!!   July 15, 2008

I want to say I had read Andrews book on revivals earlier this year, and I do not believe in any way shape or form that Andrew is just doing anything but preaching the truth from the house tops!
We are in the last days and we are called as watchmen in the house of God and we need to preach the truth!!
The church has been asleep for so long, it is as if they are in a stupor and cannot see the forest for the trees, because they have been preached doctrines of men so long that now they are only awakened by signs and wonders, even if they are being deceived.

Andrew is warning as we all are, other wise the blood will be on our own heads.

This book was excellent, and is truth. It follows in history after all the truly great revivals, because God is the same yesterday, today and forever.
He changes not. He still brings judgment for sin, He has never changed.

The church needs true revival and we all need to pray now for repentance and a true turning back to God!
Thank you Andrew from the bottom of my heart for standing for truth. I know that you do not do not warn out of malice but from the heart of God.

I loved this book! It is truly needed in this day of deceptions in the last days.

5 out of 5 stars excellent expose   July 14, 2008

I thought this book was clear and concise. It answered a lot of questions I had concerning what is happening in Lakeland. Andrew speaks with first-hand knowledge and exposes what I now believe to be a false revival. I highly recommend this.
