This is a great Bible! I read through it one year and the following year bought it for other members of my family who have also enjoyed reading it. I've read other One Year Bibles, but this is by far the most exciting to read! I look forward to reading each daily portion.
It's opened up the Bible in a completely new way by being able to read it in chronological order. Where it's unclear when a certain passage was written, or where it falls in the chronology of events, LaGard gives good background info. as to why he included it where he did. It's been very helpful to read LaGard's comments at the beginning of each section that introduces some background info. to what you're about to read.
This version has made it a joy to read through the Bible and I look forward to reading through many more times. One thing I've started doing (after just reading it the first year) is to choose a topic like 'Names & Character of God' and read through the Bible looking for those references as I read and writing them down - it's been a huge blessing.

Trying to read the Bible though was a difficult thing for me to do, as the understanding of the Old Testament drifted away from me. I was discouraged that I couldn't just READ THE BIBLE with total understanding.
A friend mentioned this Bible to me, and I purchased it. I have read the account of the Gospel of Jesus, and totally understand it!! The repetition wasn't there to confuse me. The chronological order is so unique. I would recommend this Bible to anyone and everyone.

I really enjoy reading this form of the Bible. It provides insight by reading in a chronological order. I reread it every year and have recently purchased 3 additional copies for my children.
