Really excellent! September 18, 2008
Looking through some old books and found my 18 yr old son's old Adventures in Odyssey Bible. Began to read through its torn pages and remembered all the valuable, life-changing lessons he learned when we read it years ago. Tried to find one in stores for my nephew (age 9) but was unable to locate one. The newer version (red cover) is NKJV, my favorite for adults. But the International Children's version is so clearly understood by elementary readers. Most of the children's Bibles I saw in stores were NIV; not what I wanted. Finally found the old (and new) Odyssey Bibles on Amazon.com and ordered one for my nephew (since my son's is much too worn and torn and I wanted to keep it for him; it is such a wonderful children's Bible). I hope the one I ordered is in good shape. I think it is no longer available new. You can still find the International Children's version in other Bibles; none of them have the educational and inspirational cartoons like the Odyssey Bible. I may order the newer red-covered NKJV too!

We happened upon this Bible several years ago. What a treasure! The situation applications used are so relevent for today's child. My kids loved it & even I used it to clarify verses I had not understood in other translations. The best!

We happened to purchase this at a variety store only to find we should have bought more than one when we had the opportunity. Had we known how much our son would enjoy the easy to follow content and "situation comics" within, we would have gotten one for each of our 3 other children. He has had this Bible for over 3 years now and I have searched long and hard for others. Now, to find it at Amazon.com yet,unable to acquire it seems almost cruel.I absolutely recommend this Bible to anyone who wants to help the word of God come alive for their child! My son gave the 5 stars!
