Not Happy July 21, 2008 I purchased this NASB thinline large print Bible because it was advertised as leather bound. It is not. It is bonded leather and that is not what I wanted or thought I was ordering.
Eh... July 8, 2008 JMac is a faithful preacher. His notes DO NOT as some have suggested cite confessions or fathers as 'proof texts.' Simply context.
Content Issues: His notes on credo-baptism are woefully inadequate. So much so that he can't really make a case for it, let alone against paedobaptism. His notes go like this... And whole families were baptised... 'jmac... this does not include infants.' Really? Show me in scripture.
Construction Issues: Poor quality paper. I can see through 3 or 4 pages. This makes for unpleasant reading. So much so I haven't used it since maybe a month after I bought it. The paper is too transparent (I.E. heap). Nelson counting on the MacArthur toadies to shoot their profit margin through the roof. My Zondervan thinline i can see the shadow from the next page, but that's it. Nelson and Crossway's bibles are sorely lacking in the quality dept.
Spine is a 1/4" off center on my copy.
Gold around the edges of pages comes off extremely easily.
IF you read anything by Jmac it should be 'The Gospel According to Jesus'. First rate.
Gorgeous Bible May 12, 2008 I was a little disappointed that there weren't reference verses down the middle of each page but that is my fault for not making sure of it prior to purchase. I love the NASB version of the bible. My FMS made it difficult for me to carry a big study bible to church with me. So, this is the perfect size.
Thinline Bible April 18, 2008 We think the Bible is great; we bought four to use in our family Bible Study so that we would all be reading the same version. The leather look cover is a more durable cover than a paperback and continues to look nice at a paperback price.
It's really worth the price October 10, 2007 This is my second NASB Thinline and I just love it. Very elegant and good quality of print. Compact and easy to carry I strongly recommend it. i keep one in my office and one next to my bed. these are a compliment for my Zondervan NASB Study Bible.
