A great way to understand the Bible June 7, 2007 I absolutely love this Bible! At first it was hard for me to really understand what the Bible was saying when I would try to look up different subjects in a concordance. But once I started to use the Treasure Study Bible things were so much clearer! In the back it has various "treasure hunt" topics ranging from a personal relationship with God to dealing everyday things in the world. It also has a section with suggestions for what one may want to study out for the month such as, Trust, Loyalty and Friendship. It is a great book and I recommend it for everyone of all ages. It has a great breakdown of different topics and everything is put together exceptionally well.
Love it! January 25, 2007 I love this book. I read the Bible even more now and I dont care if I am 20 years old reading this book.
Good Bible! October 19, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This Bible is very cool. You go in the beginning to the "Treasure Map". It shows a list (500) of short Treasure Hunts you can go on. I expected them to be elementary, and many were (which is good for reinforcing practical truths), but there were some mature ones too. When you choose a topic it has a few questions in the beginning (most I can answer but it gets you thinking) then go to the verse it tells to go to. You then go through about six verses which prove some point about the topic. Then, my favorite part, you go to the "Treasure Chest" at the end and it shows you the verses you read, a "gem" (short summary) and usually it applies it to you. Such as for the section Boredom it explains what the Bible said than says to find something useful to do not being a busybody. Another example is Spiritual Growth where it explains that you never stop growing in Christ. Overall I enjoy the Bible very much, treasure hunts are a little fun, they reinforce truth, and they get you thinking. Also the plain Bible is nice, with a leather outside. I highly recommend it.
EXCELLENT STUDY BIBLE February 10, 2001 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The Tresur Study Bible provides the claity of the NIV translation along with exploring relevant topics such as "will God Answer my Prayers?" and "How to be a god friend? " Thus, the study bible provides a wealth of treasure of God's word as well as relevant topics confronting the Christian in today's complex world. The NIV Study Bible provides an interpetative frame work to study God's word by passage. On the other hand, the Treasry Study Bible explores relevant topics confronting the christian today. The Treasury Study Bible is worthy to be a part of anyone's library, and is useful for both children as well as adults.
