The best Bible August 23, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
For those of you who like to find the true meaning of the scriptures will love this Bible. This is second copy I have purchased. (I bought one over ten years ago and flat wore it out). I don't care too much for the keys cause I believe that you can get multiple things out of one scripture so I don't care all that much for the keys. The Strongs Concordance in the back is awesome for referencing the meaning of the scriptures. A GREAT INVESTMENT! THE ONLY BIBLE YOU WILL NEED!!
Great Bible! August 22, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you like a deeper study into the original words and their meanings then this my friend is the Bible for you.
KeyWord Study Bible August 18, 2007 I have this study Bible in the NASB and it has been a great help in understanding obscure passages and words. It saves having to pile 10 high reference books on your desk or table. I love the more literal translation of the NASB. I dig deep into God's Word and this Bible is an excellent way to do just that.
Straightfoward study bible August 4, 2007 I have known of this bible for years but never thought I would like it--I tend to gravitate more towards study bibles with notes and maps in them. However, I am finding that I appreciate this study bible much more than I would have thought!! I have the genuine leather KJV.
This study bible underlines "key" words in each verse that are corellated with very abridged Strongs dictionary in the back. I think the editor, who I deeply respect for his biblical knowlege, does a great job of narrowing down which words are key in the bible verse and linking them to the definitions; obviously ALL the words in the bible cannot be listed in the back or the bible would weigh a ton!!
The commentary is minimal but pertinent. There are very nice verse references on the side margins, which I regularly use. There is a decent concordance in the back along with the dictionaries. There is also a section on verb tenses that I tend to not use a lot, but some people, particularly bible language students, may really appreciate more.
One of the things I was most pleased with was the physical construction of this bible. I have the genuine leather, and it seems to be very well constructed compared to most bibles today. The leather is thick and strong. The pages tend to be a little thin, but not terribly so. The guilding is nice. The print is very legible with no fading print or smudging that I can see.
I find myself reaching for this bible more and more. I do have a Strong's concordance, but am really enjoying not having to wrestle with it all the time and being able to look up the "key" words in this bible instead. All in all, I think this study bible is a winner!
Really nice bible but... June 7, 2007 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Just got my NASB Key Word and I must say that it is very nice. From the genuine leather cover to the large enough text...I believe it is a 10 point. Very Nice! However, the words of Christ in red are bearly visible, almost as if they were runing out of red ink. Also the text in the Hebrew/Greek dictionary is so small you need a magnifying glass to see it. Aside from these two issues I think it is a very nice bible, but am seriously thinking of sending it back primarily because of the red lettering problem.
