Fear-based Religion Out, All Loving God In May 23, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I absolutely LOVE that Sylvia Brown rebukes fear-based religious beliefs and reassures us that it is all hogwash! Her down to earth style coupled with the knowledge she receives from her spirit guide Francine continues to provide us with incredible word pictures of the beyond and reassures us of the hereafter being a real place, just 3 feet above our world where we live now.

Love Sylvia Browne, uncertain about the Temples... May 8, 2008 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
First off, let me say that the whole reason I bought a DVR was to record Sylvia Browne on the days she is on the Montel show. I find her gift extraordinary when it comes to bringing insight, and people's past come to life. I have seen the faces of many people when she has help them with her gift. I have even enjoyed several of her books, as I have reviewed them in the past. With that being said, this book was not my personal favorite.
Honestly my issues with this book mainly lie in the Judeo-Christian heritage that I have been brought up in. If you are looking for a more Judeo-Christian slant on what heaven is like, I would suggest Randy Alcorn's Heaven book. This book describes temples and a heaven that I haven't found in my past learnings. I feel that her book often describes heaven as we may want it to be in an ideal world. We all want to believe and know that we will be reunited with our past family, friends, and pets once we have gone onto the afterlife.
I found some of this material recycled from her past books, and that it did not have enough originality to make it worth me reading. Once again, I have enjoyed Sylvia Browne a great deal throughout many years, and I will continue to watch her, an pick up her books. This book simply seemed to implausible to me to enjoy the read.
Very Disappointing! April 23, 2008 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
I don't hate Sylvia Browne; I liked some of her early books. But this book is definitely to mint money. Once you are best selling author then you just start writing books on same topic with more or less information. At least, this is true for this author. I am surprised with best reviews of this book. I guess people are impressed with Sylvia and biased with reviews. But again this review is about book.
Talking about this book, most of chapters are kind of copy-paste with little modification. And meditation for `Temple on other side', why? If you are in this physical world, you should concentrate on your purpose here in physical world and do meditation to get close to your higher self, by doing this all necessary information will be revealed to you. We are not born here to meditate about temples on other side, which should be task in spirit world.
The other thing is that author adds too much of personal stuff and grandma stories, which doesn't go well with title and purpose of book. There are really good books out there. If you really want to know about spirit world then go for `Destiny of Souls' by Michael Newton, the best book I have ever read regarding spirit world. If you read `Destiny of Souls', you will realize that information provided in Sylvia's book is incomplete. This is just my honest views about this book, no offend please.
The answer to what happens after you die!!!!! April 2, 2008 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
When you die do you sit around on clouds playing a harp for all of eternity?
I would get very board and rebellious really quick.
However, Sylvia Browne has a very good answer and a believable one at that in her new book "Temples on the Other Side" goes along way to answer that question.
I admit that some of her books can be somewhat repetitive, but most people need to be told something many times for it to sink in. While others are just to dense or caught up in the dogma of the religion they were brought up in.
This book will make an excellent reference book for anyones library especially if your trying to learn the art of meditation.
The book is essentially broken up into two sections with the first part talking about the various temples with a description followed by the purpose of the building. It would have been nice to have the two sections merged together, but having them separate is also handy.
The book is written in Sylvia's typical enjoyable fashion, and so far I have enjoyed reading it.
As Sylvia Browne always says "Take what you want and leave the rest!"
Plus always remember that Father God and Mother God are all loving, all knowing and would never turn their back on you, but you can turn yours on them.
