 No Red Text January 4, 2009
First of all, Amazon's service was great as always.
The Bible itself seems pretty good but it is not as advertised. I've received two of these Bibles and neither has Red Text for the words of Christ in spite of this feature being listed on this website and on the Bible packaging from Crossway. This appears to be a quality control problem at Crossway.

A great buy - A great version October 22, 2008
This Bible is great in many ways.
First, it is a great translation. While I have always looked at NASB as the best translation. After much research I have seen that the ESV is likely as good of a translation, if not better then NASB. I do find it flows better thus making it easier to read, and to memorize. It's an all around great translation.
Secondly, it is a wonderful size, I have up to now used a much bigger Bible in my pulpit teaching, and am looking forward to the handy size, and light weight.
Thirdly, it is a really good size font. At a 9.5 font it is a good size font for a thinline Bible and the font is very clear - I like it!
Fourthly, I like the material which is a really nice bonded leather (also like the crown of thorns design in the leather) All around good Bible.
Fifthly, not a lot of notes or cross references but for my use it is perfect. For a Study Bible I would recommend the new release of "The ESV Study Bible" - lots and lots of notes, from trustworthy Biblical scholars, also many maps and cross-references etc.The ESV Study Bible
Excellent Thinline ESV! January 23, 2008
It is so exceedingly hard to find a decent simple thinline/slimline ESV bible. It seems that anytime I found a nice thinline it was an NIV. I spent a while searching online a few times and finally discovered this one. I was a little apprehencious that it would not be as nice as the NIV ones but to my delight and surprise it turned out to be just perfect for my needs.

The premium bonded leather is softer and feels nicer to the touch whn compared to other bonded leather bibles, I've handled. Like most of crossway's bibles the pages are glue bound. My only retraction is that the pages are thin and brittle, granted this is a thinline bible and designed to be compact. This particular bible hasn't the cross reference in the center(my next ESV will.) The translation seems to be solid and is easy to read and reread aloud. It has one thin black ribbon for marking pages, which can bend the top of pages if not careful. Over all this bible isn't bad for its price could be better, but not at this price. Also the ESV resource cd is not in the box and requires you to pay shipping, unless you download the resources.
